I first worked with Laura Keyes a couple years ago primarily to capture images of her elegant functional ceramic work, showcased in a previous post HERE. While I am a huge advocate of taking your own images, it can be so helpful to invest in professional images to strengthen your marketing tools, particularly heading into busy seasons where sales are critical. During this time of so much unexpected change, many artists and makers are having to quickly pivot from their previous go-to sales channels of in-person markets and sales to online opportunities. Having evocative images that stand out in a highly competitive environment can make the difference is capturing someone’s attention and making the sale.

Since we last worked together Laura built a beautiful home studio, an environment that is now pivotal to her evolving business. The gorgeous light-filled building not only serves as a workspace but also a changing gallery for visits from collectors. It was therefore essential that we show her within this meaningful space surrounded by and engaged with her work and process.

"Working with Nicole for the second time has been such a pleasure! She has a way about her that puts you at ease and makes the process feel relaxed and fun, which is so important for someone like me who can feel awkward in front of the camera. Now that my business is mostly online, having images of my studio and the creative process is more important than ever. She captured moments that expressed exactly what I was wishing to convey, a welcoming space that show me in the process of making my line of ceramic wares."

Be sure to check out Laura’s work HERE. And if you are also in need of a new boost of visual energy for your business, I now have three different portrait packages available to suit different needs. Please reach out to find out more.
