Farewell
Dreams take vision, diligence, action, and time. Farewell opened early this year and was immediately received with warmth and affection by the Asheville community. You know those places that become an instant favorite with locals simply through the power of positive word-of-mouth? The first few months in business were a steady stream of natural growth of sincere interest, building a loyal fan base through quality of product, sourcing, service, environment, and experience. Farewell feels like a true neighborhood gem, a beautiful gathering spot connecting the community through carefully curated beverages and food, all provided within a space filled with natural light and good energy.
The images you see in this post were taken just days before the coronovirus pandemic had businesses across the state and country closing up to protect the safety of their staff and customers. This shoot was informed with both the love and passion poured into every aspect of the business but also a question mark on how the rapidly changing situation would affect this beautiful dream.
I’m so delighted that Farewell has been weathering uncertainty by leaning into their values and the devotion of a community they continually honor through their commitment toward integrity and presence. After a period of time with window takeaway service they’re now open with respect to distancing guidelines and a pared down menu. Dreams persist.
